Lil Joe is a character I created who’s a talented young artist with dreams of becoming a cartoonist and a school yard football legend. His hair is cut to celebrate Juneteenth as a national holiday 125 years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed.

I wanted to create a stance of personal power and strong emotions.
